The Milne Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre (previously known as the Milne Bay Memorial Pool) is located in Toowoomba CBD and was officially opened by the Toowoomba City Council in 1960 - in memory of the 25th Battalion from the Toowoomba region who served in the Battle of Milne Bay during World War II in Papua New Guinea.
Milne Bay Aquatic Centre contains a 50-metre heated outdoor lap pool, a 25-metre heated indoor lap pool with beach entry and wave pool, a heated therapy/program pool and children’s wading pool. We run a year-round learn to swim program in the heated pools.
Also at the centre there is a fully enclosed 45-metre water slide, waterspouts and mushroom play area, spa and sauna and health club and group fitness classes including aqua aerobics and land-based group fitness. Pool inflatables and venue hire are available upon request.
There is a Café offering hot and cold food and a retail area for goggles, swimmers and more. Onsite parking is available.
